Scurry - Dark Honey Ale (5.3% abv)

Off Color Brewing (Chicago, IL)

This beer pours a very dark brown, almost black with nearly no head.

The smell is like a blend of a Porter and a Dark Munich. Smooth and sweet smells of chocolate, molasses, coffee and dates are upfront. The taste is very similar to the smell, sweet and round but has a dry finish with almost no discernible bitterness. It leaves almost no after taste, which is something I tend to enjoy from these types of beers.

Overall a highly enjoyable beer that I would most closely relate to a Munich Dark Lager (a style I wish was more widely made in the US). Very easy drinking for when you are looking for something better than bud light but don't want to be overwhelmed by hops or other intensely heavy beers.

89/100
