Boom Sauce Hoppy Ale (8.0% abv)
Lord Hobo Brewing Company (Woburn, MA)
This ale pours burn orange with a solid head that thins to leave decent lacing on the glass. It’s labeled generically as a “hoppy ale” but smells like a double IPA with plenty of citrus and pine. It has a solid malt backbone that is quite bready and reminiscent of an amber ale. The carbonation is moderate and it has a more viscous mouthfeel than I would expect for a beer of 8%. Overall I very much enjoyed this “hoppy ale” or whatever you want to call it. Always happy to see another local brewery putting out a solid DIPA and very pleased that it is packaged in cans (harder for me to break them). Looking forward to more good brews from Lord Hobo in the future.
