Lineage Rye - American Wild Saison Aged in Oak Casks (6.9% Abv)

Trillium Brewing (Boston, MA)

12.7oz bottle

Pours a clear pale gold with a thin, bright white head that dissipates quickly. The sourness of the wild yeast dominates the smell with a hint of white grapes. It tastes similar to the smell with a sour pucker leading the way but has a slightly spiciness on the back end from the rye to compliment the mild bitterness. The thin body and low carbonation remind me a bit of a tart, oaky Chardonnay. I enjoyed drinking this beer as I'm new to the world of sours but not sure I would revisit in the near future.

83/100
