double pot & kettle - Oatmeal Porter (9% abv)

Trillium Brewing (Boston, Ma)

Double pot & kettle pours a deep brown, almost black color with a thin brown head. It smells of smooth, dark chocolate and dates with just a touch booziness. The body is very smooth and deceivingly light for a 9% porter. The taste is predominately roasty and of bitter, dark chocolate in the aftertaste. I've had my share of oatmeal stouts before but this was my first oatmeal porter (and a double to boot). This was an exceptionally smooth drinking porter with great depth of flavor but certainly not overpowering.

93/100
