Westbrook Gose. Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Gose style beer 4.00% ABV.
Served chilled from a 12 oz can and poured into a pint glass. Pours a cloudy and murky orange-amber color with literally no head. Smells are vinegary with hints of acidity and saltiness. Carbonation is moderate with a medium to light body. The taste is very tart and acidic up front, with a slight maltiness before it finishes with lingering saltiness. The can did say drink within 90 days, but I was at 125 when I opened it. It didn't seem to matter though, as the beer kept quite well.
This is only the third Gose (pronounced Goes-uh) I have had, but I am a huge fan of the style. This beer blew the other two out of the water, though I still do really like the Anderson Valley The Kimmie, the Yank and the Holy Gose. I want to thank Shane from Carmine Street Beers for this gift. It was greatly appreciated and I thoroughly enjoyed! Can't wait to try this again next time it comes out.
