The Lazy Frog IPA. Offshore Brewing Company. Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts. American IPA. 7% ABV.
Served chilled from a 22 oz bottle and poured into a (sort of) pint glass. Pours a two and a half finger white foam head. Part of the head dissipates rather quickly, and the rest lingers in a frothy goodness. Smells are of malt and hops, and a bit of a citrusy hint. The taste is very malty-it is bready and almost has a chewy component. Carbonation and body are on the medium side. The citrusy malt flavor disappears quickly on the aftertaste, but the bitterness remains for some time.
Overall an excellent IPA, and one that I could have a few of. This was my first beer from Offshore, but it will not be my last.
89/100
Thanks to Peter for recommending Volante Farms-my brother went and picked this up (thank you Kevin as well!) and loved the place. Can't wait to go myself!
Additionally sorry I never got around to do my Great American Taste-off. I wanted to do this for the Fourth of July, but it will have to wait for another week or two.
Enjoy some great American craft brews today!
Cheers!
