Southern Tier Warlock, from the Blackwater Series. Imperial Stout Brewed with Pumpkins. Lakewood, NY. 8.6% ABV.
Served chilled from a 22 oz bomber and poured into a snifter. Pours a dark brown to almost black color with a thin tan foam head. Smells are of pumpkin, roasted malts, and is almost like burnt pumpkin pie. Carbonation is moderate to light with a medium to full body. Taste is of brown sugar, pumpkin, roasted malts and some cinnamon. Aftertaste is slightly bitter with hints of pumpkin lingering.
This beer was absolutely fabulous. I pulled out my notes from last year and found I had somewhat mixed reviews last time. I had rated it a 4/5, and noted that it was not worth the price of the bomber. Apparently I paid $11.99 for it last time, and found that too expensive for the quality of the beer. This time I only paid $7.99, and found that after drinking the Pumpking a few weeks ago first, it was much better than I remembered. I would rate this even higher than King.

I wanted to wait until Halloween to post this one, but was afraid all stores would be out by then. Stock up on this immediately!
