Served chilled from a 750 mL bottle and poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy pinkish orange color with a two finger white foam head. Smell is heavily of passionfruit and lemon. Carbonation is moderate to light with a medium to light body. Taste is sweet and citrusy, and almost tastes like drinking juice instead of beer. The passion fruit flavor tastes like the real fruit, not a fake flavor additive. There is a funkiness to this as well, and sweetness lingers long after the taste.
I am so glad I picked up this bottle at Julio's in Westborough, MA. I recall Kevin Scott's review of Viva Habanera and couldn't wait to try something by these guys. They did not disappoint!
On a side note, I would highly recommend checking out Julio's. Their bottle selection is amazing, and have many rare beers that I have not even found in NYC. I was pleased to see their selection of Bruery beers, as well as many local items such as Enlightenment Ales, Nightshift, CBC, Pretty Things and more. They even had the most recent Singlecut selection, which I was not expecting to see up in MA. I'll be posting a few more Julio's purchases in the coming weeks. Thanks to Rob for the recommendation!
