Cisco Brewers Island Reserve - Double IPA (7.7% Abv)

Cisco Brewery (Nantucket, MA)

This beer pours a hazy, burnt orange with a large fluffy head. The smell is very citrusy, predominately of oranges. It tastes of pine, resin and oranges with a medium bready back bone that mellows the bitterness in the aftertaste. This was quite smooth for a DIPA, with more of the orange peel and malt flavor lingering in the aftertaste than the hop bitterness found in most DIPAs. First beer I've had from their Island Reserve series and I look forward to trying others.
