Big Lushious

Founders Big Lushious 2014| Founders Brewing Company | Grand Rapids, MI | American Double/Imperial Stout | 7.8% ABV

Served semi chilled from a 750 mL bomber and poured into an oversized goblet. Pours a deep black color with a two finger brown foam head. Smells are of chocolate, coffee, and raspberries. Carbonation is moderate to light with a medium-full body. Taste is of espresso, bitter chocolate, roasted malts, and sour raspberries. The beer has an off flavor though, but I cannot fully describe what it is. The alcohol percentage isn't terribly high, but this beer tastes very strong. Additionally, it is extremely sugary and heavy. An 8 oz pour is more than sufficient.

Not a huge fan of this one. I like to try every new Founders release and usually enjoy them. This one missed for me. (Had this beer back in March so was cross referencing my notes and remembering my thoughts on this.)
